There must be something different about this 4K sector setup to suggest it will run slower on XP.
 I thought XP could used NTFS and that was a file system using 4K per sector.
Slicing up  a hard drive into 4K sectors just means you have more sectors on bigger drives.
I also understand that the new 1TB  and bigger drives must be approaching the limit to 
the maximum size a drive can be before it will not see the full size of the drive. 
This must be an attempt to fix that problem.
