Well all that being said, yes I am just looking for CHEAP. I am at most
going to support 2 laptops and maybe, just maybe ill turn the wifi on my
Wii. my IPCop is my house main router/firewall. It handles what
limited DHCP I now want (only have 3 IPs open on DHCP) and it does
everything else I need.
I DO NOT need a $150+ true AP or true enterprise wifi router. just dont
need it for my home.
I ended up with a Trendnet TEW-639GR 300Mbps N gigabit router. so i got
an upgrade to my switch and nice fast easy to configure wifi for my
laptop. took less then 5min to set up the router as an AP. well not a
true AP, but simple pass through for my IPCop. the wifi handles zero
DHCP and only handles the switch and wifi. Only reason I even picked it
up was it was on sale and I got the 10/100/1000 4 port switch it comes
with. Only have 3 computers wired so that works out perfect. Ill keep
the printer on the 10/100 switch as that is more then fast enough for
printing and the wifi is fast enough to fileshare movies with zero
stutter or lag on the network.
Thank you all for the input. For a better business class router I will
look into a much stronger model then what I have for the home.
