[Leaplist] Audio issues recently appeared on Fedora

Probably would have been a good idea to do a running Bugzilla
submission with some of your logs, etc... I guess it's too late now,
but consider it next time from the start, or at least search Bugzilla
for similar issues.
I recently updated my Gateway P-7811FX with recent Fedora 12
errata and it too "reset" my audio settings. I found that reselecting
the audio output from digital to analog solved it. Although in Fedora's
defense, the audio works better under Fedora 12 than the pre-installed
Vista (that continues to be a PITA -- e.g., it can't software switch from
speakers to headphones correctly, whereas Fedora does).

Did the live CD thing (Ubuntu 9.10 really doesn't like this box unless I
disable X), and audio worked fine. Then eventually got frustrated and totally
ripped out PulseAudio in Fedora, then wound up reinstalling most of it.
For now, audio seems to be magically working alright again.
