[Leaplist] Serious computer trouble here

It's hard for me to believe what I'm about to report. But it's absolutely true!

I have the time on my hands since the Main computer with all my
important personal
files is out of commission.

So I thought about Tony Becker's suggestion --- on this thread ---
that I remove the new 500 GB Hard Drive
and re-install the Old, failed, tossed-in-a-Recycle Bin, 500 GB Hard Drive.

And that's what I've just done. I pulled the New 500 GB hard drive from the
computer and re-installed the old, failed, 500 GB hard drive.

Note that the just-reinstalled Old 500 GB Hard Drive does NOT itself function
but the 250 GB hard drive which had carried the load since the failure of the
500 GB Hard Drive, does function. In other words, the computer has reverted to
functioning just as it did before I tried to install a new Hard Drive.

And, to my amazement, my computer WORKS AGAIN!
Just like it did before I had installed the new 500 GB Hard Drive.
All the files are present, intact, and available.

I have learned that the removing and physical mis-handling of a failed
Hard Drive, then reinstalling
it, does not necessarily screw up the computer's functioning.

Now I plan to attend the next Installfest and see if the men who attend can help
me install the NEW 500GB hard drive again and get it to function.

Please tell me when the next Installfest will be held.

With many thanks to all.,

William
