And we come full circle ... ;)

Again, I use internal, removable, trayless, hot-swap 2.5" drives. ;)
They can go anywhere I go. And a sub-$5 rubber cover works well.

- On-line recovery: RAID, snapshots, etc...
- Near-line recovery: Backup server, remote server, etc...
- Off-line recovery: Removable media (and taken remotely)

I wouldn't recommend people do all three (3), or at least on-line + off-line
(although adding near-line adds major convenience) if I haven't seen people
get burned by doing otherwise.

I swear, honestly, when you read my posts ... there is a "method-to-my-madness"
... even if it takes several years to learn how and why! @-ppp

Mmmmmuuuuuhhhhhuuuuuuuhhhhhhaaaaahhhhhhaaaaa!!!

I am not arguing with the benefits of an offsite backup. I have one at
work of course.
My point was that I have analyzed my risk and due to the fact that I
have no cheap way to accomplish an offsite backup it just isn't worth it
for me personally.
