Funambol sounded like an online 'service' from the googling I did, so I ruled
it out since I wanted the data stored on my own site. It's possible I
misunderstood how Funambol is implemented.
In turn, SyncML sounded like a connector to a service (such as Funambol), and
I went into this wanting vcard and ical standards.
I also tried Akonadi, but it turned out to be more like SyncML (a connector)
than a true shared data store.
