Thanks very much, Hank.
Using my Linux computer I went to the "cnet" site.
It's confusing for one not accustomed to downloads since there are
several downloads of the anti-virus tripe all offered on the same page.
But I located the AVG Free download and downloaded it. That was a
very quick process.
Then the screen offered Open AVG Free, or, Save it. Since Open was
the default, I clicked on it..
But it didn't open.
Instead this message appeared:
"tmp/avg_free_stb_all_8_32_cnet-1.exe could not be opened,
because the associated helper application does not exist.
Change the association in your preferences."
I don't know what that means.
How do I "change the association" in my preferences?
Thank you for guidance.
