[Leaplist] More Anti-Linux Propaganda from MicroSuck and Worst Buy

A couple of years ago, they were opening a new "Worst Buy" near us, and
since tax season was just ending, it sounded like a good idea to apply.
I made it clear (assuming anyone there can read) that I was primarily
interested in a back-room PC install/repair type of job.
They sent me to an on-line application form. The first three questions
dealt with my technical skills, the rest of the (45 MINUTE!)
questionnaire was one of those Psych Profile things. You know, "If you
dropped your ice cream, would you a) cry, b) scream, c) buy a new one?"
"Do you like maple trees better than canoes?" I, STUPIDLY, tried to
answer it honestly.
A day or two later I went to their recruiting office in the mall and
asked about my application. The girl looked it up and said "We will NOT
be calling you in for an interview. But you can reapply again in 30 days
if you want." Thinking it over, I'm pretty sure I COULD have "cooked"
that Psych Profile, but by then I was so disgusted I never bothered. It
was (20-20 hindsight) clear that they were looking for "Cheerful
Charlies" and didn't give a DAMN about technical skills or knowledge,
even if you were going to be mostly/totally in the back room.
I make a point of not shopping at Worst Buy.
