Thanks Homer.  I also have install CD disks... have had a few folks 
looking deeply into the problem of the three laptops, and ifconfig 
confirms connections over wifi, but, they couldn't get the browsers to 
connect,  and I am content to put in Linux Mint 7... on Tuesday...

Also, now that the wifi to bldg. B is back up, the classes can again do 
research there.

The laptops help bring one classroom that was being used for research, 
up to four systems for those students.  

One laptop there that does wifi just fine, and another,  plugged  into 
ethernet , along with two workstations on Linux Mint 7, lets them do 
their work on four units...
