Someone here in MD was just talking about how they do $1-2/check,
and they are not remotely big.
If cost is a consideration, then Intuit is going to be the best. Open Source
will _never_ address such legally-adverse details. ;)
Open Source is not cheaper when it comes to anything that touches
something like this.

It was going to be something ridiculous with Paycore for us to do our traditional weekly Monday payroll with only three or four checks per week. Direct deposit was going to be even worse. Something like $50 a week. Whatever it was, it was not nominal or peanuts.
Right now it just costs us the $200 or whatever a year for Intuit's payroll service and $100-250 every three years for a forced QB upgrade. Bad, but not as expensive as outsourcing!
