[Leaplist] Wine and Graphics settings

I have recently made some conversions to some older computers from Windows
to Linux. I have a Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz computer with 2 GB Ram and am trying
to run a program in Wine. This program is listed to have been tested and
seemed to be acceptable and I have searched for similar problems but have
found no reference to any so I think it is my setting up that is causing my
dilemma This has been tested on three other computers with the same results.
I am an Ham Operator trying to run a program (UI-View) for position
reporting. It uses maps that are png graphics. When I start the program in
Wine, the window comes up, all is visible for a split second and then *poof*
just the map portion of the screen goes black. You can Zoom Out and Zoom In
and the same thing occurs, the map is visible for a split second and then
goes black. The rest of the window is still visible. You can click on menu
items, perform all of the functions in the program, but you just can't see
the map.
When I installed the program in Wine, is there something I have missed in
setting it up? Does it require setting up some kind of graphics reference in
the configuration?
I am about as green as they come when it comes to this. I have a strong
background in working around Windows and know enough to be dangerous (LOL)
but know very limiting info on Linux. I have been stumbling and struggling
with this issue for sometime now and found nothing to aid in my misguided
direction. I can provide further information on guidance (screen capture and
even video if necessary).
Thanks for any help.
John
