Not to be taking Steve's side, but an honest question:

How does integrating email with calendaring make them easier or better?

At my day job, I use the full Micro$oft suite, and do acknowledge the 
ability to switch between email and calendar without leaving the 
application.

At my other job -- the one where I'm the default admin -- I'm presently 
using Thunderbird and a web-based calendar. I can switch between these 
with a keystroke, plus it doesn't lose my place in the email when I 
check the calendar.

I'm willing to be convinced, but need to understand what your point is, 
as I need to move to a new system at my second job as soon as I can 
figure out what and how.
