MSI has announced (at CEBIT Show), their instant "On" Linux, which seems
a lot more polished than what they showed back in January.
It appears to be that Linux is in some kind of Flash ROM, in a module
that plugs into the USB buss on the mainboard, but, pinouts are not
shown, yet. I think a similar neat thing can be accomplished by anyone
simply using a LiveCD of Linux, or a USB drive, with Linux on it.
What is cool is that MSI is another major market vendor pushing Linux to
accomplish Skype, email, web browsing, and more, with minimal resources,
FREE, and to every consumer!
May 2008, Asus announced that all the top line products made after June
21st, 2008, would instant boot to Linux, from a small menu on screen as
soon as the BIOS was loaded.
MSI, by putting their product into a small module, might be able to
expand it's popularity to even older products already released!
