they might even have a chance to drop the lawsuit and get open-source
companies to forget that Microsoft is not now, never has been, and never
will be, open-source's friend.

Youre still a Novell apologist but every once in a while you hit it on
the nose ;-)

I compare Microsoft to an abusive spouse. They beat, threathen and abuse
you and then they buy you flowers/sponsor FOSS shows hoping you forget
everything.
Of course, this never lasts long and eventually you get 'what you
deserve' and then the whole circle repeats itself.

Im sure the 'pragmatists' will tell us that there are lots of fine
people at Microsoft who really want to work with Linux and FLOSS but I
have never taken the words of some lower management flunky over the ones
of the CEO. Those words by Rajmi/Milf/etc mean nothing, its the words of
the guy who signs the checks that matter.

Imagine some marginal paper pusher at Apple claiming that the company
was going to change 180degrees and people believing him over Jobs.
Well, that's what people are doing with Microsoft: hearing only the
sirens songs and not the 900 pound gorilla.
The gorilla is the boss: what he says goes.
