I'm not sure what you mean, exactly. I guess claws mail
uses it.  I switch between mutt and claws; if I want to
view an email from claws in mutt I export it to mbox.
somtimes I do a single mail or a whole folder.

perfect, as far as I can tell.

yep.  I've never used kmail, and I don't know for sure, but
I wouldn't be surprised if claws is twice as configurable.
There are options out the door.

For almost as long as I've had a computer.  At first of
course, there was Sylpheed.  I used the bleeding edge
version, Sylpheed Claws.  Claws Mail is a fork of Sylpheed
Claws that focused on development of its more advanced
feature set.

I don't see any drawbacks to trying it out.  Use it along
with kmail and see if you like it...
