Hi Bruce,

Kevin was probably talking about pf, the BSD firewall system. Pf is not like 
IPCop, but instead is like the iptables that underlies the IPCop distro. 
However, pf is much simpler and intuitive to configure than iptables.

Now whether pf can easily connect to a PPTP VPN, I have no idea.

I'm considering taking a spare box, loading it up with BSD, and configuring it 
as a dedicated firewall/nat/dhcp_server. If it works, fine, if not, I'll just 
keep using IPCop, which has been serving me beautifully since 2000 (when it 
was called Smoothwall).

If IPCop's already working for you, you know it, and your priority is getting 
stuff done with your box, I think IPCop's fine.
