You mean like the way your shell works or the way your desktop operates?
 You don't want any consistency in that?

If I run program x on computer z I expect it to operate exactly the same
way it does on computer y.  And it does.  If it didn't I would probably
uninstall it and try very hard to forget that it ever existed.
