I used the dd method. Down load Ubuntu Netbook Remix.
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download-netbook . Plug in your usb
which has to be at least 1G. Then open a terminal. Type df, this gives
all mounted drives. Ubuntu auto-mounts usb devices. Find out from the
output what drive your kernel calls the usb drive. There are quite a few
ways to find this out but df is the easiest. Unmount your drive. Run
sudo umount /dev/device/node . Leave off the partition number you just
want the device node. My device was sdc. Make sure that you use the
correct device as dd will overwrite your main hard drive if you use
that. Run sudo dd if=/path/to/downloaded.img of=/dev/device/node bs=1M
. Remove your flash media when the command completes (you may need to
wait a few extra seconds for it to finish). This may be more info than
you wanted but someone may want it.
