[Leaplist] GPL good or bad?

I think it's just a great disservice to MySQL AB and the GPL to make
complaints about the GPL. Especially so after several lawsuit
have resulted because other firms have violated the terms of the
license at not only MySQL AB's expense, but the community's as well.
Where numerous, commercial endeavors have failed around PostgreSQL
have bankrupted over and over, MySQL AB has sustained development,
mitigating risk for end users and corporations alike. It's also this
same, arbitrary FUD attitude that people have slung at Red Hat as
well, not realizing what the GPL does for the community.
And I say this as someone who does very little MySQL, as I use
SQLite and PostgreSQL far more, especially the former.

I know the flamefest will now begin -- it's fun! -- but I've always used
PostgreSQL myself for that same reason. And it gets better with each
release.
