I don't know how big of a laptop you want, but the HP that I've got
worked just fine as far as hardware drivers go including the camera, the
bluetooth, integrated card readers, the volume and play controls across
the top of the keyboard, even the infrared remote that came with it
works. Even hibernation on lid close works perfectly.
It is the HP Pavillion dv9823cl. It's big, but I wanted a big screen and
not a small footprint. We bought two of them when they were on sale last
year at $599 each.
With Fedora 12, the only thing I had to tweak was Flash and Nvidia,
which took all of 30 minutes and came from the repository.
