I'm not familiar with empororlinux, so no help there, but we have 2 
laptops from system76, and they've both been excellent, and are 
delivered with Ubuntu, fully working.  If any of the hardware has any 
special drivers, they maintain an update site for anything they had to 
provide outside of standard Ubuntu (make that: they do the tweaking). 
And they have sales and support people who actually know and use linux.
Certainly worth a look, even if one of the others turn out to be a 
better choice.
