Ah.  For a few hundred more we could just buy a full multi-function printer.  
My concern about that is it's a huge decision and it's notoriously hard to find 
good information about CPP when it comes to toner, as I've asked about on list 
in the past.

I can't imagine spending more than like $150 for a scanner we only need 
rarely.

Hrm.  I hadn't thought about that.  We don't have a SCSI controller on any of 
the desktops that might use it.  I suppose I could pick one up cheap, but 
they're all Windows based desktop systems running XP.  Can you even run SCSI 
on XP SP3 and find drivers?

A cheap ancient flatbed might actually be a good idea.  I should hit ebay.  I 
think I got rid of my last cheap Adaptec SCSI card.  Have to hunt around.
