[Leaplist] adobe flash for Ubuntu

While surfing I am often asked to download new plugin "Adobe Flash Player version 9.0.124.0.   I check with my synaptic packages that show I have adobe flash player 9.0.124.0 ubuntu2 installed. 

I can't figure out the mystery because my note books that are 64 bit machines with 32 bit Ubuntu  8.04.1 on them show no such reminder but my desk top (a 32 bit machine) with the same 32 bit Ubuntu 8.041 software does. 

Any explanation and/or solution would be appreciated.
