I've never done specifically that, but the general process is:
1. Get all the data that you want from the NTFS partition
2. Remove the NTFS partition with GPARTED.
3. Expand the EXT3 partition with GPARTED.
I would suggest if you have another drive that the less risky way to do this
would be to partition the new drive the way you want it and use one of many
methods to migrate the data you want to a new drive. When it looks like you
want it to look, format the old drive.
