As Linux professionals, as well as users, I commonly see
statements that make me cringe, but I understand many
of us (myself included) have not always been exposed to
various solutions.
As such, if you're unsure of an enterprise solutions for Linux.
always be sure to check Red Hat eXchange (RHX). Several
are FOSS, a few are not, although many work on other distros
(and not just CentOS or Fedora). Although some might view
this post as a blantant marketing ploy (which is probably
half-true ;),
it is still a good site to get a list from - especially when
you get that lame "unsupported" comments. A great response
is, "You're right, we don't support just one, monolithic, non-innovative
product, we support and certify several products, and
several are available as FOSS if you don't need a Service
Level Agreement (SLA) - same software.". Many also have
Windows servers and clients too, which opens up more options
for some.
