What type of router you are using?
On the Linksys WRT54G's (Factory Firmware). You just enable Remote
Management (Administration => Management) this activates the web app on the
wan port. If you don't change any of the other settings then you can remote
into your router at http://{your public IP}:8080 (port 8080 is the default,
change if you are already using that port for something else). If your WAN
uses DHCP, then sign up for Dynamic DNS, I think it is free.
If you don't' have a WRT54G, but your router has port forwarding, you can
set up a port forward command to forward the requests to your desired remote
access port to the private IP address of 192.168.0.1:80. (ie
123.123.123.123:8080 forward to 192.168.0.1:80)
Let me know if you have any questions.
Barry

Subject: [Leaplist] {Disarmed} Connecting to router
How do I configure my home router from somewhere outside on the Internet.
>From my own home network I would just type in <http://192.168.0.1>
MailScanner warning: numerical links are often malicious: 192.168.0.1 at the
browser and then get to the admin log in utility screen. I know what the IP
address is to get to my computer from outside shelling in (well I am able to
ssh in that is). I am not sure how to get to the router utility from the
outside?
