LAKELAND - Polk Community College and University of South Florida
Polytechnic received a grant of more than $800,000 to create a four-year
Linux computer-system administration program, school officials announced
this week. The National Science Foundation awarded the schools money to
teach students to work with the operating system, which is used by
companies such as Dell, Hewlett-Packard and IBM. School officials say
all classes will be offered online.
