[Leaplist] howto run VMware as NONE-root user?

[Mr. Brunkow]

I am using vmware on Sabayon (gentoo fork) as i MUST have IE in order to
complete a college math class I am taking at Valencia.  Is there a way
to run VMware as user instead of sudo?

the .vmware folder is in my home directory, but is root/root in
ownership and permissions.  I really do not want to mess it up, but do
not enjoy the idea of running winXP as root on my Linux workstation.
