Buy it. ;)

If you're going to work with people who refuse to recognize the root
causes, then buy it. And then deal with the inadequacies of the
product. I noted MS Publisher 2007 can import/export MS Word. Ironic
that the Publisher developers seem to be the only ones who try to
maintain a long-term format and support for non-standard formats. But I
also saw things "warped" if there was any serious layout at all.

MS Office 2007 Home and Student is just over $100. If you don't have a
Windows installation, buy a new, cheap Windows XP computer, that package
and use it only for dealing with these people. Will save you money in
your time.

All when you advocate they adopt Scribus. If anything, you can load
Scribus on that same system and show them the differences.
