[Leaplist] VoIP and downloads

I am seriously considering a VoIP solution, but I am curious how people
are handling large bulk transfers while simultaneously using the phone.
I know that tends to effect my SSH sessions, so it must have an effect
on the UDP stream for VoIP in a similar fashion.

Dealing with traffic shaping for outbound is easy, since you control the
queue. For inbound traffic, it's more of a challenge, since you're
essentially stuck indiscriminately dropping packets until the upstream
system gets the message you want a slower stream...

Also, what's the minimum upstream bandwidth requirement for VoIP? I
have a 384Kbps DSL up currently.

Thoughts?
