[Leaplist] Compresseing a file

I wouldn't use XCF if I wanted to compress something, XCF files are
**HUGE**. For experimenting with various compression techniques, save
the file as BMP (bitmap), which has all the pixels and almost no
overhead. Then try all the programs like ZIP, GZIP, BZIP, and any others
you can think of, and you will get varying amounts of lossless
compression. Pick the best and use it.
Note, however, that different pictures may may compress better with
different programs ... a "busy" picture may compress differently than
one with big solid-color areas.
