I didn't -- I just pulled from a NFS mount.  I ran Debian on the client laptop 
and just navigated around in Konqueror, using Kaffeine to play stuff.  It's 
vary spartan.  I never setup mythtv as a client on the laptop, since that 
seemed overkill.  (I can't exactly record stuff on the ancient ~ 2000 era 
laptop and with only 128M of RAM, I'm sticking with what works now.)

If I had a real client box I'd probably look at mythtv to see if it made sense 
to run on the client and if it would be valuable to run on the server.
