Indeed.  Kubuntu 8.04 works outstandingly on my new Dell XPS M1530.  
Everything works.  It's amazing.  I needed ndiswrapper for the WiFi -- this 
variant had the Broadcom instead of Intel WiFi -- but the Web cam, thumb 
scanner, and Bluetooth all Just Work (tm) just like under the Windows Vista 
Premium install it shipped with.  A few documented changes and hibernate 
works, too.  Anyway...
