It's a tribute to the Linux developers that the compatible
hardware lists are getting unmanageable. There was a time
when it was a case of "these fourteen things work - buy anything
else at your peril. There are also more hadware manufactureres
for whom Linux has become a blip on their radar. In all honesty,
it's gotten over the halfway hump - the point at which it's easier
to list hardware that doesn't work with Linux. In fact, if you
buy mainstream, and avoid bleeding edge, it's almost
gauranteed you'll have success these days - and with the
prevelance of LiveCDs, which make quick testing trivial, it's
hard to lose.
Cheers,
Chris
