I used Ubuntu 8.04 for a month on a fairly beefy laptop and had full  
3d acceleration, the effects were lots of fun, but I would have  
preferred if you could actually move a maximized window by dragging it  
enough, it didn't seem to make any point to stretch that much if it  
wasn't going to budge.
