Any OS can suffer from an errant application causing it to seemingly
freeze up, and here is how to safely exit that problem...
I believe I have seen this happen to a system about a dozen times since
1997. Oh, yeah, I know how to delete the 'right' character in
/etc/fstab, to cause calamity!
No code is perfect, so this can come in handy!
