Working with "Gift from God Computer Foundation", who gave away 1200
free computers last year to children and to non-profit orgs.
All sported Win 98, W2K (MAR licensed), at a cost of about $3500.
I am receiving some cheerful exuberance by the actual rebuilders, all
volunteers, who would love to stop searching the server for drivers, and
spending about 4 hours accomplishing each install!
Yet to meet with and convince the Board to start putting Linux on all
systems that don't arrive with a COA on the case, I believe that when I
do demo Linux for them, it should be with our own logo on the first page.
I proposed that we build our own live CDrom (possibly a DVDrom!) install
with the logo on it, and included in the splash screen and wallpaper.
Ubuntu 8.04 LiveCD ISO is about 655 MB.
Probably have it based on Ubuntu 8.04, to include on the second
LiveCDrom, the Edubuntu ADDons that is about 422 Mb.
It needs to also include much of the Crosswire product, for Bible study,
in English and Espano'l.
