Depends on what parallels is providing.
Intel Apple MacBooks use 32-bit EFI (Enhanced Firmware Interface) and
not PC BIOS, so if parallels is providing that as well, there can be
differences. Especially since EFI may require the use of the GPT
(General Partition Table) disk label, and not the legacy BIOS/DOS disk
label (aka "Partition Table" with legacy "Primary" / "Extended" -
"Logical"). There are also geometry issues with some translation when
newer PC BIOS or EFI implementations use more than 0-63 (6-bit) sectors
and 0-255 (8-bit) heads.
