Absolutely; that is why I said perceived to. I have done at least 75 
installs on laptops, and I have never had a single one go flawless. Some 
aren't that bad, but eat you alive on updates. The current XP Pro, SP-2 
CD will immediately require close to 80 or more updates, even more if 
you have already installed office and are doing a microsoft update 
instead of a windows update. But with all of that, so many people I talk 
to, all microsoft administrators, state how easy an XP install is. I 
guess the comparison is windows ME.

Even pre-installed XP requires updates, depending how old the image is. 
Just not the 80+.
