Okay, regarding the two (2) channel 3Ware Escalade 7006-2LP cards, I'm
going to be calling the seller tomorrow and hopefully I'll have
something worked out by Friday (it's been near-murder on Wall Street as
of late, so I haven't had time for additional follow-ups with the
seller).

So far, I have the following people in ...

    Raevsky: 1 (verify?)
  Whittaker: 2
     Boxman: 1 (verify?)
    Simpson: 2
      Perry: 2
           ------
     at least 8 so far

I was going to aim for 15 in case anyone else who is interested. If I
get enough people, I could aim for 20. Price will not be more than $20,
and it might be a few bucks cheaper, depending on what I can negotiate.
I'll put a full driver CD together as well for Linux and Windows (BSD
also if you really want it).

These are 32-bit, 33/66MHz PCI 3.3V cards with 5V tolerance. That means
they work in _any_ PCI or PCI-X slot, period, any voltage, completely
universal.

Also, I now have the following cards available as well:

- 3Ware Escalade 7800 eight (8) channel, full length
- 3Ware Escalade 7500-8 eight (8) channel, half-length

These are both 64-bit, 33MHz PCI 3.3V cards with 5V tolerance (again,
universal). I have now tested both in PCI-X slots, and confirmed 64-bit
PCI-X _can_ slow down to 33MHz (66MHz isn't required). They will also
work in 32-bit, 5V PCI slots too.

The 7800 is my 6.5 year-old, proven card which I paid almost $400 for
new in 2001. I verified it is the 2nd rev, not the initial, 1st rev
with bugs (I verified that 4 years ago). It's been my primary card all
these years, period. The sucker will _max_out_ the 64-bit x 33MHz
(266MBps theoretical) transfer rate with 7 drives in RAID-5 at reads, or
8 drives at RAID-10 at reads/writes -- around 200MBps sustained DTR.

The 7500-8 is the newer version (double the SRAM on-board) that I
purchased more recently, and I've been using for an additional 7+1
drives in my server. I'm moving over to newer SATA, and I have a 7506-8
card now too (66MHz capable version), so I don't need it anymore either.

P.S. The next time I'll be in Orlando will be 3/29 (Sebring on 3/15,
Bahamas on 3/22). I might just come to the next InstallFest on 4/5
and/or instead.
