[Leaplist] Wifi on Laptop

I finally got Linux installed on my laptop as the only OS, no dual boot.
I installed Debian Etch, and the install went flawless. The laptop is a
Gateway 7330GZ with a Broadcom wireless adapter. Etch detected the
wireless adapter, and assigned it as Eth1 using the BCM43xx module (I
expected Wlan0 or something similar, but who cares). The problem I had
was that the network manager only gives the possibility of WEP, no other
encryption. My network is currently using WPA-PSK, so I added the info
into my /etc/network/interfaces file and was able to bring it up, works
like a champ. So here is my question; how do I connect to other wireless
LANs, such as Starbucks or others if I have to manually edit the
interfaces file? If that is the answer, I am OK with it, but is there an
easier way, or possibly further entries into the interfaces file that
will allow auto detection? Or is there an auto detection feature in Etch
that I am unaware of? I know this is the place to come, as most of you
all use laptops, some exclusively.

Thanks,

--Hank
