[Leaplist] please refresh my memory on Windoze+Linux printer sharing

The cost is there but the absolute easiest way is with an ethernet 
printer driver
in hardware...that way the printer has an ip address and is NOT server
controlled by any particular OS...so permissions are not involved....
Used to you could buy one at compusa for around $40
I would have to shop on ebay to find one nowadays...I happen to
pick up some HP directjets at hamfest around town when I see them
and alot of them pop up and folks don't really know what the heck
they are so I get em for like $5 - $10
they go for over a hundred retail at Office Depot

Other than that you will be dealing with the ubuntu box acting as a server
and it will expect that xp box to have an authentication and you may even
get involved with samba and wow heaven forbid netbios and wins ...LOL
