Mark,

I went to the link you placed in your letter and returned without ever having received a solution. 

My challenge is this,

I have a brand new system with about 80 GB of disk space of which I have used 10 GB for Microsoft Windows XP as a safety net. The rest of 70 GB id free and clear for installation of Debian so I can learn Linux. 

I want to provide enough disk space to root so in the future I do not have to make some radical changes. My system is privately used home system so I do not expect my home directory to grow as large to require more than 25 GB. I have two latest DVD full of Debian software. If you can,lease guide me  to install and commission my system  please.
