The Listserv software -- i.e., the one actually named "Listserv" -- is
neither free as in beer nor as in speech, AFAIK.
Besides mailman, another free mailing list package is called Dada Mail.
There are probably a few others, but mailman is the gold standard.

| I have a client who inquired yesterday about setting up Listserv for
| their organization. They need to know how to set one up, and how much
| it costs, because they are applying for a grant. They currently have a
| SuSe server handling mail with sendmail and their Web site running off
| Apache. Their mail is getting ready to be moved to a third party POP
| account, but they will still have the server for their Web site.
|
| Is the LEAP mailing lists run with Listserv? If not, what are we
| using? I would like to stay with their Linux server if possible.
|
| Thanks,
