either way, although it's a lot easier to put an external AP up high  
(for better coverage) than it is to put an entire machine up high.

ideally, a real access point. they are more expensive than a ritter,  
but you KNOW it's going to work, and that it won't have a problem with  
multiple wireless clients (5-6 is about the limit for most ritters,  
but APs generally use different components and can handle more  
wireless clients.)

i HAVE an extra ritter here at the house (a trendnet TEW-432BRP) if  
you want to borrow it and see how it works- and if you decide to keep  
it, i think i only paid $25 for it, i got it from compusa several  
months ago when they were getting ready to shut down, thinking i might  
need one to throw into a client's office some time, but if you can use  
it, it'll at least be in a good home.
