Hmm... haven't had that problem since the old sound blaster pro series...
just what kind of card are you using, steve? Anyways, the easy solution to
that is to simply use a card with a digital audio output, like an x-fi
prelude or an x-mystique (really expensive on the former, dirt cheap on
the latter).
I haven't used analog audio in several years, and probably won't be going
back.
