.... I did a 'yum -y upgrade' this A.M. on this box (Athlon64X2 3800+
CPU, 2.0 Ghz, 2 GB RAM, GigaByte mbd), uname -a sez:
Linux athloncube.cfd.com 2.6.27.5-41.fc9.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Nov 13
20:29:07 EST 2008 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
& rebooted. All is well (including some networking/NFS issues that I had
apparently munged up :-/) .... except for 1 tiny thing: I now have this
dialog box that pops up about hourly on my Gnome desktop whining about
PackageKit. Apropos shows me nothing (well, almost nothing, but the
stufff directly about packagekit shows as (rpm) ....), chkconfig shows
no PackageKit, ps shows no packagekit daemon running, etc. It seems
harmless, but I would like to turn it off :-). I haven't googled it
(yet), I am hoping there might be a quick 'AHA, this is the problem &
the solution' .... any clues :-) ? TIA ....
