[Leaplist] Seeing the key to bring up BIOS

It is always a problem for me with some Op. Systems, when a given system
is booting, to have sufficient time for me to see/catch the Key/Keys
which must be hit in order to bring the BIOS to the Screen.
I was working with a computer on which Fedora Core 5 was installed and
the screen which contains the key to hit for BIOS went by so fast that I
believe it would take unusual eye sight and reflex speed to be able to
read what User is looking for. I estimated the length of time the
opening
screen was viewable at1/12th second. Maybe a bit faster.
>From previous experiences I tried "Del" and I got the BIOS.
Now here's the question:
Is there a command or keystroke/keystrokes which one could use which
would FREEZE that fleeting opening screen of an Op. System at boot-up so
that User could casually read the screen at his leisure?
And, is "Del" the most commonly used key stroke to bring BIOS to the
screen?
Thanks very much,
William
