[Leaplist] 32 bit vs 64 bit?

My older computer now running Fedora core 5 is a 32 bit machine.

The OS Disc Co.'s Fedora core 9 and Fedora core 8  Installation discs
are for installing 64 bit Op. Systems.. I bought the 64 bit versions of
Fedora core 8 and core 9 because my newer, "Main" computer has 64 bit
processors.

That now seems to explain why these two new 64 bit Fedora Installation
discs won't "play" in my old 32 bit computer.

Am I on the right track or is there a simpler explanation?
