I am going to be very rude here.  This is the exact attitude that makes 
those "normal people" look at anyone who uses Linux as crazy.

Yes I agree that no MS OS is worth its weight in salt and I doubt it 
ever will be.  One of the MAJOR adaptation problems is the fact that the 
vast majority of users are not computer people they are just people who 
click n point on that big E, or big W, or big X and that is about all 
they know how to do.

They may be really skilled at creating fancy word documents or wild and 
crazy excel spreadsheets, but they could not answer the most simple 
question about what the name of their OS is that is assuming they know 
the term OS.

To make a desktop GUI look and act like MS Windows or Vista, or win2k is 
NOT a bad idea when you look at things from that stand point.

If it makes it simpler for the VAST MAJORITY of computer users out there 
to start using a much more secure and stable platform then I am for it.  
Will I use this distro or a GUI that looks, acts, feels like XP or 
Vista, NO, but that does not make it bad.
